Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International airport
A representative of Africa Adventure Safaris will welcome you at Kigali International Airport and transfer you to the hotel for your dinner and overnight.  You may enjoy a city tour of Kigali including the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre which portrays the history of Rwanda leading up to genocide in 1994 and catalogues the details of the genocide in photographs, video, written accounts and a range of artifacts. Stay an overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel/Hotel Des Mille Collines / Hotel Rwanda /Kigali Novotel Gorilla hotel or Iris Hotel.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national Park
Very early in the morning transfer to Kinigi for gorilla trekking at 8.30 am local time. Spend this day in the lush montane forest of the Virunga Volcanoes tracking the captivating mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Nest’s Lodge (FB)

Day 3: Lake Kivu Tour
After breakfast transfer to Lake Kivu for a boat cruise to its beautiful agriculturally rich islands whose coffee plantations are worth a visit. For swimmers, the bilharzias -free fresh waters of this lake are suitable for swimmers. So do not forget your swimming kit for a quick lunch time dip. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking
In the morning after your breakfast, undertake chimpanzee trekking in the Nyungwe rainforest. Expect to see large troops of the delightfully acrobatic Angolan Colobus monkeys, and the handsome L’Hoest’s monkeys; and the chimps as they swing in the tree branches. In the afternoon visit local artisan groups to learn and participate in their local community income generating projects. An extensive network of well-maintained walking trails leads through the forest to various waterfalls and viewing points. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking & bird watching
In the morning after breakfast, you may return to forest for more chimp trekking and birding. Some of the birds include the Ruwenzori Turaco and the black-and-white casqued hornbill among others. In the afternoon transfer to Kigali visiting Butare National Museum en route. Stay an overnight at Kigali Serena Hotel/Hotel Des Mille Collines / Hotel Rwanda /Kigali Novotel Gorilla hotel or Iris Hotel.

Day 7: This day is reserved for your scheduled flight to your next destination.
