Day One:
Arrive Entebbe, met on arrival and transfer by road to Mbarara on a good tarmac road. Along the way, stop at the Equator, and take pictures of the Ankole Long Horned Cattle and shop for a souvenir at the craft village. Dinner and overnight either at Regency Lakeview Hotel or Agip Motel. Meal Plan - Lunch and Dinner.
TRANSIT TIME 6 HOURS
Day Two:
Breakfast early and depart for the Mountain Gorilla Sanctuary of Bwindi arriving in time for lunch at the Lodge. Bwindi is one of the few Albertine Rift rainforest remaining in Africa. It supports 300-350 (three quarters of the world’s remaining) mountain gorillas. An encounter with a Gorilla family is one of the most humbling, thrilling and memorable experiences. In the afternoon, take a self guided walk around the camp. Apart from a check list of 350 birds, the forest boasts of more than 300 species of butterflies, 100 species of mammals. The lowland rainforest and montane forest vegetation are forever locked in a struggle to reach heights that will allow them to see the light. Dinner and overnight at The Gorilla Forest Camp or Mantana Bwindi Luxury Tented Camp. Meal Plan - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. TRANSIT TIME 5 HOURS
Day Three:
Early morning breakfast, travel to the base of the mountain for a briefing before starting the gorilla trek. After picnic lunches and drinks in the forest, an hour with the Gorillas, return to base for dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Mantana Luxury Tented Camp. Meal Plan - Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day Four:
Breakfast at Leisure, before proceeding to the tranquil Lake Bunyonyi, described by the BBC Focus on Africa as the “most beautiful lake in the world” Spend the afternoon at leisure on Bushara Island bird watching and/or fishing the local way. Meals and overnight at the Bushara Islands Camp or the Nature’s prime Islands camp.

Day Five:
After breakfast, depart for Kampala for lunch before proceeding to Entebbe International Airport for a late evening flight. |
